On April 8–9, 2025, two public welfare donation events under the theme "Education Empowerment, AI for Learning" were held in Neihuang County (Anyang City) and Jiaocun Town (Ruzhou City), Henan Province. The events were jointly initiated by Henan Daily and CVTE, and organized by the CVTE Public Welfare Foundation and Guangzhou Shirui Electronics Co., Ltd. (Seewo). A range of AI-powered teaching equipment was donated to local rural schools and the "Weiguang Book Salon", exploring new models for county-level education development with AI support, and providing replicable, scalable examples for the digital transformation of rural education in Henan and across China.
Policy-Driven: AI Empowers County-Level Education at the Right Time
China is currently implementing the "AI+" initiative to promote deep integration of artificial intelligence and education. In August 2025, the State Council issued the "Opinions on Deeply Implementing the 'AI+' Action", explicitly calling for "accelerating large-scale personalized instruction, improving education quality, and promoting educational equity." In May of the same year, Henan Province issued its own "Three-Year Action Plan for AI+ Education (2025–2027)", requiring the deep integration of AI concepts, knowledge, methods, and technologies into teaching models, talent cultivation, academic disciplines, management services, and other areas. The plan also encourages the development of application models for learning, teaching, management, and research based on local needs.
As a large education province, Henan faces challenges such as the heavy workload of rural teachers and limited access to high-quality resources in its many county‑level schools. Using AI to reduce teacher burden, improve efficiency, and bring personalized, intelligent learning to rural children is critical to closing the "last mile" of educational equity. These donation events represent a direct response to this policy imperative.
In Anyang: An AI Corner at a Deputy's Book Salon Brings AI to Rural Children
On April 8, the first donation event took place at the "Weiguang Book Salon" in Lishi Village, Mashang Township, Neihuang County, Anyang City. The book salon was founded by Li Cuili, a National People's Congress (NPC) deputy. She runs a small supermarket in the village and converted shelves into bookcases, offering free book lending to villagers and children for 18 years, serving over 400,000 visits. During the 2025 NPC session, she brought a hand‑drawn picture of her hometown into the Great Hall of the People, advocating for high‑quality digital education resources to be channeled to rural areas, drawing considerable media attention.
In response to Deputy Li's initiative, CVTE and Henan Daily donated equipment including Seewo smart blackboards, interactive smart displays, AI compute modules, terminal devices, and a classroom intelligent feedback system to the Weiguang Book Salon and the local elementary school. An "AI Interactive Learning Corner" was set up inside the salon. After school hours, children can use Seewo whiteboards to experience AI‑powered textbook reading, AI exercise explanation, and conversations with large language models, transforming the salon from a quiet reading space into a dynamic exploration hub.
Li Cuili said: "Now with interactive smart displays and other AI equipment, children can not only read books but also see a much bigger world. The smart blackboard can dynamically generate 3D animations. When a teacher explains meiosis or geometric shapes, they can simply tap the blackboard to turn it into a 3D image. Children learn as if playing a game. This means rural children can also access cutting‑edge technology education."
In Ruzhou: Party Building Activities Help Create a County-Level AI Education Model
On April 9, the second donation event was held at Shuigou Elementary School, Jiaocun Town, Ruzhou City, Pingdingshan. Shuigou Village, where the school is located, is a paired assistance village of Henan Daily. Taking this opportunity, the Visual Media Center of Henan Daily and the CVTE Party Committee organized a thematic Party‑building event titled "Warm Spring Sun, Heartfelt Donation". Officials from the Ruzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, the Dalu Party Branch, and the CVTE Party Committee attended the unveiling of two "Seewo AI Education Application Demonstration Classrooms" at the school.
Each demonstration classroom includes a complete set of hardware and software: smart blackboards, 4K teaching observation cameras, array microphones, AI compute modules, teaching terminals, AI lesson preparation tools, classroom intelligent feedback systems, and teacher training programs, among others. These are the first "AI+ Education" demonstration classrooms in Ruzhou.
At the donation ceremony, the CVTE Henan region representative introduced practical solutions for AI‑empowered digital teaching. The school principal shared the school's digital needs in daily instruction. Later, during an AI classroom training session, teachers and attending officials experienced interactive smart blackboard teaching, one‑click AI lesson preparation, and intelligent classroom analytics. The event concluded with a visit to Shuigou Village and a tour of the assistance achievements, led by the First Secretary of the village.
Long-Term Commitment: Seewo Public Welfare Continues to Support High‑Quality, Balanced Education
Seewo, a CVTE brand, has long focused on the digital development of education. Since launching the "Seewo Public Welfare Initiative" in 2016, it has adhered to a dual‑track model combining digital equipment donation with teacher digital skills training. Projects include teacher development programs, a distance classroom initiative, a teacher digital capacity building support program, and the Seewo "Xingtan Plan". These efforts continuously help rural schools in remote areas improve their digital teaching environments and enhance teachers' digital abilities. Seewo Public Welfare promotes the sharing of urban and rural education resources and contributes significantly to balanced education development.
By the end of 2025, the program had invested a total of RMB 62.88 million, reached 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and benefited about 57,000 teachers and 665,000 students. Through the "device donation + teacher training" model, it has covered 979 schools nationwide, helping over 60,000 teachers and 660,000 students.
In addition, Seewo has partnered with the Teacher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and the China Education Development Foundation to launch the "Seewo Teacher Digital Capacity Building Support Project", targeting 160 key counties receiving national rural revitalization assistance and 72 higher normal universities. By the end of 2025, the project had built 160 "Smart Training Rooms" in counties and 72 "Education Practice Smart Classrooms" for pre‑service teachers at universities, benefiting 370,000 teachers and university students. At the end of 2025, the second phase of the project was launched, focusing on AI empowerment, providing AI teaching resources and capacity training to 72 universities and 500 county‑level high schools nationwide.
The donation events in Henan follow the same philosophy: not just donating equipment but also teaching people how to use it. The program provides not only AI teaching terminals, large‑model computing modules, and classroom intelligent feedback systems but also supporting training to enhance teachers' AI‑based teaching and research skills, helping them master tools like the Seewo teaching large model to transition from "starting from scratch" to "AI‑assisted lesson preparation."
Looking ahead, CVTE will continue working with government, media, public welfare organizations, and other partners to illuminate the path of dreams for more rural children with the light of technology, contributing corporate strength to building China into a powerhouse in education.
